The media appears to be including stories of the many benefits of pets, especially dogs.
A recent news story was about Bentley, a lovely mini Poodle helping to de-stress commuters on public trains in the NSW.
Other news stories this week show dogs helping children to relax returning to the school environment after a public holiday break.
These great news stories of course comes to no surprise to anyone working in this field.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, that when a well mannered, confident, trained dog is matched with a dog handler specifically trained in health and safety, risk assessment, safe and respectful dog / person interaction methods and appropriate communication skills, that the benefits are unlimited.
